This ArtGraf Special Edition Pencil Set is made by Viarco. the oldest and only pencil manufacturer in Portugal. The company was founded by industrialist and entrepreneur Manoel Vieira de Araújo in the 1930s. and is still family-owned to this day. To celebrate its 70th anniversary. Viarco reissued some of their products exclusively for A Vida Portuguesa. a Lisbon-based. women-owned shop focused on crafts made in Portugal. This special edition is dedicated to the generations of students who have learned to write with the classic writing utensil. The box of 12 assorted pencils is illustrated with a charming painted landscape. which is the same packaging that was used from the 1940s to the 1960s. It even comes with a piece of paper explaining the history of Viarco. in both Portuguese and English. The A Vida Portuguesa Landscape Pencil Box measures 3.7w 7.5"d.
